(2 Samuel 14:14) ¹⁴ For we will surely die and are like water spilled on the ground which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away life, but plans ways so that the banished one will not be cast out from him.

(Psalm 130:3-4) ³ If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? ⁴ But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

(Romans 8:1-2) ¹ Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. ² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

Feel Dejected

(Psalm 130:7) ⁷ O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption.

(Isaiah 65:24) ²⁴ It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

(Matthew 11:28-30) ²⁸ “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

(Romans 8:26-27) ²⁶ In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; ²⁷ and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

(Hebrews 4:16) ¹⁶ Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

(James 4:8) ⁸ Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Feel Despair

(Psalm 119:116) ¹¹⁶ Sustain me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope.

(Isaiah 57:15) ¹⁵ For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.

(Jeremiah 32:17) ¹⁷ ‘Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You,

(Hebrews 10:35) ³⁵ Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

Are Disappointed

(Psalm 22:4-5) ⁴ In You our fathers trusted; They trusted and You delivered them. ⁵ To You they cried out and were delivered; In You they trusted and were not disappointed.

(Isaiah 49:23) ²³ Kings will be your guardians, And their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth And lick the dust of your feet; And you will know that I am the Lord; Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame.

(Matthew 19:25-26) ²⁵ When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” ²⁶ And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

(Mark 9:21-24) ²¹ And He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. ²² It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!” ²³ And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.” ²⁴ Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.”

(John 15:7) ⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Are Depressed

(Deuteronomy 31:8) ⁸ The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

(Psalm 34:18) ¹⁸ The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

(Isaiah 49:13-15) ¹³ Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people And will have compassion on His afflicted. ¹⁴ But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, And the Lord has forgotten me.” ¹⁵ “Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.

(Romans 5:5) ⁵ and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Are Persecuted

(Genesis 50:20) ²⁰ As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.

(Psalm 37:1-2) ¹ Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers. ² For they will wither quickly like the grass And fade like the green herb.

(Matthew 5:10-12) ¹⁰ “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹ “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

(2 Corinthians 4:8-12) ⁸ we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; ⁹ persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; ¹⁰ always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. ¹¹ For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. ¹² So death works in us, but life in you.

(2 Timothy 1:11-12) ¹¹ for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher. ¹² For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.

(1 Peter 3:13-14) ¹³ Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁴ Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.

Are Anxious

(Psalm 55:22) ²² Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

(Isaiah 41:13) ¹³ For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’

(Matthew 6:25) ²⁵ “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

(Matthew 11:28-29) ²⁸ “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(Philippians 4:6-7) ⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. ⁷ And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Are Filled with Longing

(Psalm 37:4) ⁴ Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

(Psalm 84:11) ¹¹ For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

(Psalm 103:5) ⁵ Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

(Luke 12:29-31) ²⁹ And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. ³⁰ For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. ³¹ But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

Are Sick

(Psalm 23:4) ⁴ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

(Psalm 73:26) ²⁶ My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

(Isaiah 57:18) ¹⁸ I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourners,

(Matthew 8:16-17) ¹⁶ When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill. ¹⁷ This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: “He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases.”

(John 16:33) ³³ These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

(Romans 8:37-39) ³⁷ But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(James 5:14-15) ¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; ¹⁵ and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

Are Weak

(Psalm 72:13) ¹³ He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy he will save.

(Isaiah 41:10) ¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

(2 Corinthians 4:7-9) ⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; ⁸ we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; ⁹ persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

(2 Corinthians 12:9-10) ⁹ And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. ¹⁰ Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Are Afraid

(Psalm 4:8) ⁸ In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety.

(Psalm 23:4) ⁴ Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

(Isaiah 35:4) ⁴ Say to those with anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, But He will save you.”

(2 Corinthians 1:10) ¹⁰ who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us,

(2 Timothy 1:7) ⁷ For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

(Hebrews 13:6) ⁶ so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

Obey

(Exodus 14:23) ²³ Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea.

(Matthew 16:27) ²⁷ For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds.

(John 8:31-32) ³¹ So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; ³² and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

(John 14:21) ²¹ He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

(John 14:23) ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

(James 1:25) ²⁵ But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Are in Need

(Isaiah 58:11) ¹¹ And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

(John 6:35) ³⁵ Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

(2 Corinthians 9:10-11) ¹⁰ Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness; ¹¹ you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.

(Ephesians 3:20-21) ²⁰ Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, ²¹ to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

(Philippians 4:19) ¹⁹ And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Grieve

(Psalm 119:50) ⁵⁰ This is my comfort in my affliction, That Your word has revived me.

(Psalm 119:76-77) ⁷⁶ O may Your lovingkindness comfort me, According to Your word to Your servant. ⁷⁷ May Your compassion come to me that I may live, For Your law is my delight.

(Jeremiah 31:13) ¹³ Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together, For I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.

(Matthew 5:4) ⁴ “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

(John 16:20-22) ²⁰ Truly, truly, I say to you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but your grief will be turned into joy. ²¹ Whenever a woman is in labor she has pain, because her hour has come; but when she gives birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy that a child has been born into the world. ²² Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

(1 Thessalonians 4:13-14) ¹³ But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

(Revelation 21:3-4) ³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, ⁴ and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Suffer

(Psalm 34:19) ¹⁹ Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

(Nahum 1:7) ⁷ The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.

(John 16:33) ³³ These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

(Romans 8:16-17) ¹⁶ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, ¹⁷ and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

(1 Peter 2:20-21) ²⁰ For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. ²¹ For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,

(1 Peter 4:12-13) ¹² Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; ¹³ but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation.

Fail

(Joshua 1:9) ⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

(Romans 3:23-24) ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

(Romans 5:8) ⁸ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

(Hebrews 10:36) ³⁶ For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

(1 John 1:8-9) ⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. ⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Doubt

(Psalm 34:22) ²² The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.

(John 3:18) ¹⁸ He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

(John 11:25-26) ²⁵ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, ²⁶ and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

(Romans 4:5) ⁵ But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,

(1 John 4:15-16) ¹⁵ Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
